In Thunder Bay- "Visiting the Voo Doo Lounge" - February 28, 2003
It seems like such a long time ago, when I would be working in Thunder Bay, spending my evenings as a girl, an having no place to go.
Well, thanks to all the support and encouragement I've received from my friends on the net, and from the "Girls of Masquerade", getting out has a whole new meaning in my life:-)
Last month, I met Theadora in Thunder Bay, and during this trip, finaly had the time to get out on a Friday night and meet her on "Her Turf", at the Voo Doo Lounge. That evening was kinda stressful, since I wasn't sure if I'd be done work in time, and as luck was on my side, I was*S*, and made arrangements to meet Theadora and her friend Lonnie at the lounge later that evening.
I was so happy, that I had lost enough weight to wear the new "Real Leather" mini skirt I bought on Valentines Day! So that, with a peasant sweater and boots was my outfit for the evening!
On my way to the Voo Doo, I just couldn't resist stopping at a convenience store for a pack of gum. I just love doing that! Stopping at every day places doing every day things:-) I guess in a way, after all those years of worrying about "what would people think", I've been out looking for those negative attitudes that I used to worry about. I just don't seem to find anything more than acceptance with a smile. I hit ?, on Algoma St., and made my littel purchase. The realy cute girl behind the counter was vrey pleasant and helpful, pointing me to the rack when I asked. I made my selection at the counter, made my purchase, then hit the road. Off to the Voo Doo Lounge!!
Sabrina & Theadora
Sabrina, Theadora, "Pool Shark"& LonnieI guess it was about 11pm by the time I got there, and found parking around the corner. The lounge wasn't that busy, and I found Theadora, Lonnie and their three friends right away. The music was wayyyyyyy tooooo loud, so I basicaly just sat there looking pretty, since I couldn't hear a word!! We tried the lounge area away from the dance floor, still too loud, then headed for the back area where it was much quiter and actauly kinda cozy. Like being at home in the living room.
Theadora and "Her Customer"<LOL>We took these pics, and by around 2 am, it was time to head for the hotel, and sleep!! Which I badly needed after such a long week!
Thanks for reading my story,
Sabrina
