Out & About "Shopping With Vanessa"..

On Saturday, March 27, 2004, I spent a very pleasant day out shopping with Vanessa. I wore my new red leather mini skirt and a black long sleeved T-shirt with black hose and high heeled boots. Vanessa wore pants, and a sexy black top with sandals. She usually wears skirts but for this trip, pants was her look.

Our first stop was to Portage Place where we parked in the underground parkade, which was a good thing, since it was pouring rain outside! But you know what they say..."A rainy day in high heels is better than a sunny day in flats". <LOL> The mall was very busy, and it was so thrilling walking through the parkade and taking the elevator to the mall level with lots of other people around. Our first stop was Payles Shoes were they had a really sexy pant boot with a spiked heel. But since I don't wear pants too often, I thought it would be a waste. We checked out Le Chateau, with me wearing the red leather mini skirt that "Him" bought last week

Vanessa tried on the white leather mini skirt and fell in love with it. It was a little discoloured where the hanger was clipped to the skirt so they gave her a 15% discount!! I just love the feeling walking around those stores, with all the customers in there, moms with their kids, and just feeling like one of the girls!

We walked past the center court area where a stage show for "Winnipeg Idol" was going on. There was quite the crowd there, and I was so thrilled having the guys checking me out<giggle>

We checked out the Leather Ranch, which is a very expensive store. And got attacked by two salesgirls! They just wouldn't leave us alone to browse in peace and were very pushy. I'll bet they work on commission. It just wasn't a very pleasant experience in that store. It had nothing to do with us being crossdressers at all. They have been like that when I've been in there as "HIM". It's like they won't let you out of the store without forking over a few hundred dollars. Danier Leather isn't like that at all.

After leaving, or rather, escaping the Leather Ranch, we kept walking through the mall checking out all the girl stuff. Plus I got a big kick out of a few guys who were checking us out as we walked up the open staircase to the second level. I just knew one guy was peeking under my skirt too<giggle> At Mariposa, Vanessa found a really cute black jacket. She's lucky with her size, everything fits her! Me, I need to hunt a little more to find the larger sizes.

On the second level we took a few pics near the fountain which wasn't working at the time, and a cafe. Lots of people everywhere and such a fun experience.

After leaving Portage Place, we drove over to Grant Park Shopping Centre where Vanessa hadn't been out shopping to yet .. We parked and walked through the parking lot to the building in the rain. That was so cool, feeling the little droplets of rain on my nylon clad legs! As we crossed the fire lane two guys in a silver sports car stopped to let us by. After we crossed and they started up, the driver called out something like "Lookin' Good Ladies". We both turned and gave them a smile and then it happened. They read us!! The driver right away yelled "Hey! That's SICK! I take that back! GOD!!" We just laughed and went into the mall.

Things like that don't bother me at all!! Oh, yes, if I heard that the very first time I walked into a mall, before meeting Masquerade, or going out with Foot Lover, that would have probably sent me so far into the closet. Yet, I do realize that I am very happy with myself when I walk into those malls in my mini skirts and heels, and that it is the "Closed Minds" of those in the car that are the ones with the problem. Not me. Up until that time, we were among hundreds of people who just accepted us as we are. And that is what counts. So I guess what it boils down to, is I'm not going to let the .01% out there spoil 100 % of my fun!

Anyway, we checked out the stores in the mall and in the Zellers store, then it was time for something to eat. So Vanessa suggested Tubby's, a pizza place and bar on Stafford Street. We parked on Stafford and walked half a block to the building and met the waitress who directed up to a booth. That was so cool, being so much out in the real world, sitting at the table with my legs crossed and my skirt riding up my thighs. We both ordered fish and chips, something we could eat without messing our makeup! (See, girls think different than guys, who would have ordered the messy burger!) There were several other patrons in the restaurant and it was such a comfortable experience. After dinner, out came the camera to record our adventure!

Then it was off to Lady Godiva Boutique to get out tickets for the Black & Blue Ball on April 3rd. We met Mary's new staff member, and had great "girl talk" with her and Mary. After a terrific day of shopping I drove Vanessa home, and headed for home myself. Although I didn't find anything on this trip, being out as a girl for the day in my mini skirt and heels is exciting enough to keep a smile on my face. :-)
