Shopping with Chantal - February 8, 2005
Once again I had the day of for Masquerade's February meeting. This time, my GF was going to finally be out of the house which gave me some playtime before hand. To try on outfits and pick out the perfect "Shopping Outfit". Of course it just had to be a mini skirt!
I had planned on being ready in time to make it to my daughter's workplace, so her "Aunt Sabrina" could give her a ride home. But getting such a late start it just wasn't going to work out. So instead I simply stopped for a visit before heading off to get ready. Since my GF isn't supportive at all, and we just don't talk about my girl side, ever, I don't get ready at home too often. So off I went to my favorite underground parkade where I could change in my van in a "warm spot!" It is worth the $ 5 parking charge!
I was ready by 5 PM, wearing a black t-shirt, a mini skirt with two front zippers, black hose and boots, just in time to meet with Chantal for an afternoon shopping trip! Chantal wore jeans and boots instead of the usual mini skirt. Our first stop was to Value Village where when you finally find something you just gotta have, it's usually around $ 5! Chantal found a real short purple mini skirt and just had to buy it! Resigning myself to thinking I have way too many skirts and not enough tops, I focused on blouses and such, but didn't find anything I wanted.
Our next stop was to the Le Chateau Warehouse store on Ellice Avenue, a place we've shopped at often, and found the leather skirts I bought last summer for $ 50 were on sale for $ 5! I know I could have waited, but then again, there would have been no guarantee I'd find them again. Besides, when a girl wants an outfit, she wants it NOW!!
After leaving Le Chateau Warehouse we went right next door is a store called "Dots" with a lot of clearance items. The only real bad part about shopping at the discount store is that when you finally find that perfect top, skirt or dress, they only have one and it isn't your size! Not like shopping at full retail, when you can just go back next week when they have new stock in.
Without finding anything we liked at Dot's we headed off to Winners, also on Ellice Avenue! While we were browsing the racks, both of us looking for tops but drawn to the mini skirts, this sweet guy walks by us a few times, seeming like he wants to say something but seeming nervous. He finally stops and tells Chantal how nice she looks! As he started to walk away he turns to me and says he thinks he knows us from somewhere. As we start talking we figure out it was at Club 200 he had seen us. Still being polite he wishes us a good day and we go on with our shopping
I've been approached before, when I've been out en fem, and it always gives me a very good feeling. Because it really goes to show me how the world accepts me as "Sabrina". Plus, it really goes a long way to show me just how real my "girl side" is to me:-)
After leaving Winners it was time to head off to the Masquerade meeting to spend another evening spent with our girlfriends!
Thanks for reading my story,
Sabrina
