Out & About - Going to see "13 Going On 30" with Shandi..
Ever
since it hit the BIG screen, Shandi had been looking forward to going to
see the movie "Connie And Carla" which had a drag theme and featured Winnipeg
actress Nia Vardolas. So what a perfect evening to go see it, on her BIRTHDAY!
So as the big day approached, we checked show times and planned to go to the late show on Friday, May 14, 2004! (The day Shandi tuned 25, again!) Just our luck!! By Friday, they quit playing the movie late in the evening, and the latest was 6:30 PM! Major pout! No time to "Get Pretty"and get to the early show.
So after a little thinking (just a little) we decided to go to the movies anyway and picked "13 Going On 30" which was playing at Silver City Cinema at Polo Park at 9:30! Great! Now what do I wear??
I just love wearing my mini skirts so a leather mini skirt was my choice, with beige hose and boots, and a brown t-shirt and my shinny PVC jacket! The perfect "Evening at the movies" outfit!
I got to Shandi & Charm's around 8:45 and waited for Shandi to get ready. Yes..it does take us girls a while to "Get Pretty", because, after all, wanting to looks one's "Very Best" is definatley a Girl Thing!!
Shandi looked absolutely HOT..all dressed in black with a real sexy top and skirt, with spikey boots! Charm, gorgeous as ussual, wore pants! Off we went for our adventure! Parking at the theatre was very busy however we quickly found a spot and walked through the parking lot, our heels clicking loud and proud! It has been so wonderful these last few years, to have friends which whom I can go out into the real world and just experience life they way I've always wanted to!
The place was very busy with people leaving and people arriving. We got our tickets from the clerk, stopped at the concession for goodies and off we went to the theatre. I know we got "checked out" by many of the guys, and perhaps a snicker or two was heard, but it was such a wonderful experience just being out doing real things that that sort of thing doesn't bother me. To be honest, if it is happening, most times, I'm not even paying any attention! I'm having too much fun being a girl!!!
As we made our way to our seats the previews were on the screen so we
didn't miss anything. The movie, "13 Going On 30" had a great theme, to
which we could so much relate to. Just that we were GUYS going through
school wanting to be the GIRL who was "30 and Flirty" :-)
After the movie ended, we took a picture in the theatre, another "Trophy" of our adventures! Then of course took a few pics outside too. Since it was Shandi's birthday we headed off to Club 200 to watch the drag show which had a "Country Theme" and get together with some more friends.
