Out & About - Going to see "Mean Girls" with Chantal..
Tuesday, August 10, 2004, was our monthly Masquerade meeting day and since I had the day off I wanted to make the most of it..."Girl Time" wise. Since Chantal was off too it was going to be the perfect day for an outing. Since we both like going the movies wearing our mini skirts we planned to go see "Mean Girls" which was playing at 2:30 pm at the Cinema City theatre in the Northgate Shopping Centre
Planning for the day was stressful as usual, since my GF was at home and because we don't talk about this side of me just makes it hard sometimes to get my things out of the house when I need too. Packed and ready I headed off to get ready. Halfway down town I realized I left the printout of our last Masquerade meeting minutes sitting on my desk!! MAJOR Stress now! I just couldn't be out and about with the worry that my GF would find it so I headed back and picked it up.
Whew! Now I can rest! But would I be ready in time to make it for the 2:30 show? You bet I did. I was ready by 1:30 wearing my black leather mini skirt, fishnet tights, high heels and a brown long sleeve t-shirt! Perfect for an afternoon at the movies don't you think :-)
I made it to Chantal's by 2:00 pm. She was wearing a nice black long sleeve top, red mini skirt, black pattern tights and heels! The parking lot at the theatre was very busy and we had to park quite far away from the door, which meant we had to walk a long way through the parking lot and past the police community service centre to get to the mall and in broad daylight! The best part was watching the guys turn our way as we both proudly walked through the parking lot in our mini skirts and heels!
In the theatre we purchased our tickets and waited patiently in line for our popcorn...among the mom's and kids and couples on dates. And there was us, the two prettiest girls in the place! (OK, so I'm bias). The theatre wasn't to crowded and we got a good seat near the middle. Sitting there I though how times change....for so many years I dreamed of outings like this and yet now in the past few years I've been out to the movies way more times as "Sabrina" than as "Him"! So you can bet I had a smile on my face as we sat and enjoyed the show!
After the movie was over we went shopping at a little clothing store Chantal had found a while ago, located on McDermot Avenue and Arthur Street! There was lots of really cool "vintage" clothing from dresses to shoes and lots of other nick-knacks too.
Then it was off for a few pictures. We stopped at the Manitoba Legislature grounds and took some pics near the fountain. And thanks to a nice girl who was passing by, she took a pic of the two of us!
As it was nearing 5:30 pm, we made our way to The Fat Angel Bistro on Main Street where we met Rhaina. Shortly after we go there Krystal, Charlene and Riannon arrived and joined in the fun. The dinner was delicious! I had my usual, the Chicken Savannah dish! And the others enjoyed their choices too! The restaurant did have several other patrons who never gave us second look. I used to worry so much about "What would people think?", yet now that I've been out and about so much, I've seen so much that people simply go about their own business and don't really pay too much attention to what we are doing!
Krystal, Sabrina, Rhaina & Chantal at The Fat Angel BistroAfter dinner we headed off to the Masquerade meeting and enjoyed the presentation put on by the Mary Kay lady!! Check out my Photo Album for more pics! Check out the Masquerade Photo album for pics of the Mary Kay presentation!
