Taking my daughter to the movies - "Harry Potter"
After my daughter joined myself, Shandi, Vanessa, Ardra and Natalie when we went to see Sorority Boys, I told my daughter I would take her to see Harry Potter. Besides, it was another night I would get to spend in a mini skirt*S*
We finally had time together on Monday, April 29, 2002, and arranged to meet at her house. I wore my favorite black mini skirt, black hose, sensible shoes and a wine T-shirt. I picked her up about 5:30 and drove to the Northgate Shopping Centre. First, we went to the theatre where I purchased our tickets for the 7pm show, then began shopping*S
I just love the feeling of walking through a mall wearing a mini skirt. After checking out the craft store and the dollar store, passing right by dozens of people and having all good feelings, we went to Zellers where she had said hse had seen a purse she liked. It was still there, so I decided to buy it for her. She found a cool tote bag for school, and after checking out more stuff in the store, headed for the checkout. My daughter paid for her tote bag, then I paid for the purse. All a very pleasant experience*S*
It was getting close to 7pm, so we walked toward the theatre, stopping in another shop along the way, where I bought my girlfriend a litttle something*S* When we got to the theatre, there was a lineup to get in, but we had our tickets and walked right in! At the concession, we got our popcorn and drinks, and while we were standing there, my daughter looked away and smiled, then turned to tell me one of her teachers just walked by! Darn, she didn't introduce me<giggle>
Lately when I've been out, I've felt so good about myself, it is like I don't even look to see if people notice anymore, I just have fun enjoying the moments. we found the right theatre and took a seat near the isle and near the back. The theatre wasn't too full, and there was me, sitting there with my legs crossed and my mini skirt riding up my thigh*S* A few of the "dads" with their kids did take good looks when they walked by, and I'm sure I got one in trouble with his wife*S*. I really enjoyed the show to, even though I did see it before, in "Dad" mode. Enjoying a movie like this for years had always been a dream of mine, and now, this is the third time I've sat in a crowded theatre in a skirt!
After the show, I stood and waited for others to leave, and felt so comfortable just being "one of the parents". as we left the building, with me still on a high, my daughter looked back and said "I'm freezing and there you are in a mini skirt!". Ya, so what's her point?<LOL> Being a school night, I drove my daughter right home after the movie, making plans to do it again sometime soon.
On the way home I felt so alive, and so lucky to have a daughter so accepting of me. She really is special!
