Working at "The Everything To DoWith Sex Show" (as Mary's "Secret Service")
After
having so much fun working at Lady Godiva Boutique helping Mary with her
spring sale, I was thrilled when she asked if I would be interested in helping
her with her booth at the "The Everything About Sex Show"! It
took me about a second to make up my mind, and couldn't wait for the big
weekend, and right away booked the time off work! During one of my visits
to Mary's store, I met Tracie, one of the show's organizers.
"The Everything To Do With Sex Show" was planned for Thursday to Sunday, October 3 to 6, 2002, and was being held at the Assiniboine Downs in Winnipeg. Exhibitors from all over North America were setting up booths displaying their wares, all related to the "romance" theme. Mary of course would have her display of lingerie and adult toys.
By the time the big day rolled around, I was very excited! I was all set to leave the house in the morning when things kinda went a little sour. I overheard my GF (who is not accepting of my dressing) talking on the phone, making plans to perhaps visit the show on one of the days!!! I couldn't believe it!! The show was one place I thought she would never want to visit. I had no worries at all about being out in public, with literally thousands of people at the show, but just knowing she might show up was a different thing.
I did leave the house and although I had planned to be at the show by noon, to help get set up, however, I just seemed to drive in circles, for about 3 hours!!! Worrying about the possibility that I may come face to face with my GF, who, although I told her about my dressing in 2001, has not ever seen "Sabrina". I guess I had that going for me, and I finally gathered up the courage to get ready. And wow, once I started changing, there was no stopping me!!
For
Thursday, I wore a purple blouse, my favorite black pleather mini skirt,
black hose and sensible pumps. A nice "business" look :-) I got
to the show around 2PM, parked and headed for the door. I was inside the
building about three feet when I heard my name being called out!! By Tracie,
one of the show's organizers!! Talk about making a person feel important!
All smiles she told the ticket taker I was one of the exhibitors and led
me to the front desk where I picked up my name badge! With me walking through
the building, my heels clicking proudly on the tile floor, Tracie showed
me where Mary had her booth set up, and off to "Work I went!*S*
Mary
had a large booth with access on three sides, which made the display a lot
less crowded when it got busy. Mary gave me my first "assignment",
to sort out the lingerie racks into sizes, so off I went to begin my "work
day" as Sabrina*S*
Mary could tell there was something wrong, so I explained my concerns that my GF might show up on any of the tree days. So we arranged contingency plans, that I could duck behind the curtain for a while if I spotted her! Even knowing I had the advantage, that my GF has never seen me dressed, I was still on edge, staring toward the entrance quite a bit.
By 3PM, the show opened and visitors started to trickle in. It gradually got very busy by about 7PM. It was such a wonderful experience, just being a girl and among so many people stopping by the booth. I talked with so many I could never count them all, and never once had a bad feeling about being there en fem. I know I got read for sure several times, but even at that, I was treated so very well. And because I was treated very well by everyone, making it difficult to read "them", it was hard to tell what people were really thinking. Which simply reinforced my belief that we don't have to try to pass all the time, that we can simply be ourselves and society really will accept us!
Mary and her staff took care of serving customers, while my job was to stand around and look pretty! No, just kidding. Along with Mary's staff, I helped answer customer's questions, and kept an eye on the racks, making sure stuff stayed where it was until paid for. After a while, we began joking that we were Mary's "Secret Service":-) The first day ended at midnight, and after walking for about 9 hours in heels, I hate to say it, it felt good to kick off my heels (Ok, GG's, you win!)
Friday
was "dress sexy" day!! Patrons got in for half price if they dressed
up for the show, so I had to as well*S*. I wore my black body suit, fishnets,
a red mini skirt and pumps. Not bad for a "working girl" <LOL>.
Jacilynn and I worked Friday, and again had such a blast. During the evening,
special visitors stopped by, Shandi and Charm (both incognito*S*).
During the show, I did see several people that I know as "him", however, they showed no hint of recognition*S*. But the best part, was meeting people I know from the clubs I go to, and the Black and Blue Ball, who know only Sabrina. After so many years of being alone, I am so glad that Sabrina has friends of her own*S*. That in itself makes her persona a very real and special part of my life!

For
Saturday, I wore a green satin blouse, black pleather mini skirt with front
buttons, black hose and sensible shoes. Vanessa was there to, along with
Jacilynn, so Mary's Secret Service was in full force. During slower times
we got to roam the rest of the show and check out all the other displays,
from photography, to hot tubs, fortune telling, Ms. Lonelyhearts columnist,
to body art, sexy custom clothing and shoes, massage therapy, and all the
"adult" toys. Plus, there were lots of photo opportunities too!!
(Photos coming soon!) We even got a picture of Vanessa in bed!! Well, not
really. Laying in the bed of a new Dodge pickup that was on display! One
of Mary's GG staff bought a nice chain-mail accessory to wear over her shoulders,
so we kinda named her the "Warrior Princess"*S*

The show ran from 11AM to midnight, so that made for a very long day in heels too. But you know, you just can't keep us away from a party! After "work", Jacilynn, Vanessa and I all went to Shandi's party!! Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep that night!

Sunday was to be a shorter day, as the show ran from 11AM to 6PM, but we had to take everything to Mary's store afterward. So being more sensible, I wore boots with a good support instead of pumps, with a black mini skirt with a front side slit, and a wine T-shirt! Again it was quite busy for us. Jacilynn had a blast helping the customers and was told several times how wonderful a salesgirl she was!! Vanessa, had stayed a Shandi's party way too late, so she helped out in guy-mode. Which was a good thing, since we did need "guys" to do the heavy lifting when packing up*S*
It was really a sad time, when 6PM arrived, and we started taking down the displays. I really didn't want it to end. Ardra and Kira arrived in guy mode to help pack up. And it was so helpful that Vanessa, our club President" was there with "Air Farce One" (Her Dodge truck) to help with the load. After a few hours, everything was packed and off we went to Lady Godiva to unpack! I was sure glad I was wearing sensible footwear! Just goes to show you, a girl has to think ahead.
After everything was unpacked, Mary took us out for dinner to Perkins, a 24 hour restaurant! We had all been working long hours, not thinking even about food, so we were a teeny bit hungry*S* The restaurant wasn't too busy, although we got casual glances walking to the table, it was all a very pleasant experience. The staff was very courteous too. During dinner, we had a lot of fun reflecting on the events of the past four days, and making plans for next year's show!!! I know we were all very tired, but seemed wide awake on such a wonderful high from such a wonderful experience!
