My Favorite Heroine ! BATGIRL!!

I just LOVE her costume!

Sabrina is BATGIRL

This I believe is where it all started. When Season 3 of the 1960's Batman TV Series "Batman" aired, Yvonne Craig stared as Barbara Gordon, daughter of the Police Commissioner of Gotham City. And of course Barbara had a secret identity just like Bruce Wayne. Barbara was BATGIRL all dolled up in a skin tight purple suit, with a yellow and purple cape, a yellow "utility belt", and of course to hide her identity, a purple cowl complete red curly hair, much different than Barbara Gordon's brunette appearance.

Something about her in that tight costume and I didn't want to be Batman. I wanted to be Batgirl ! I did make a few attepmts at making the costume, but no where near close. Over they years there were commercially made "Batgirl" Costumes available. But they were the black mini dress with the yellow bat symbol, that were not even close. Until in fall of 2021 I just happened to find it on Amazon. The 1968 version of BATGIRL. So, the costume looked great and it came with everything, the suit, utility belt gloves and cowl. I just needed the purple boots. Which after a brief search I did find so in no time flat I had ordered the Batgirl costume and the boots. Didn't have to wait logn and they were at my door, and when It arrive I couldn't wait and tried it on right away. YES IT FIT PERFECLTY. A fantasy that had been on my mind since that season with Batgirl aired was coming true.

The first time that I wore it out was to the Masquerade meeting on October 12, 2023, almost 2 years after I finaly had Batgirl's costume ! Oh I had worn it a lot just for fun around the house, and I have to say, wearing it walking down a city sidewalk in the cool evening air was such a thril. Almost as it I really was Batgirl. The meeting was great with some of the other girls in their costumes, then afterward we went to Club 200 for a few more hours. Such a great experience and can't wait to wear the costume out again!
